Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing

Our wood pellets are pressed entirely from virgin softwood sawdust generated as a by-product of sawmilling within our own Portuguese timber supply network — no purpose-felled roundwood is used as pellet feedstock. This means every tonne of pellets we export represents material that would otherwise go to waste, pressed with no chemical binders or additives beyond the wood's own natural lignin.

We source through direct relationships with Portuguese forest owners and sawmills operating under national and EU forestry regulation, and we can share sourcing information and current ENplus-equivalent certification documentation with buyers who need it for their own sustainability reporting, green-procurement policies or heating-incentive scheme eligibility. Because pellets are manufactured from recently grown biomass rather than fossil carbon, wood pellet heating is widely recognised as a low-carbon alternative to oil and gas — a point increasingly relevant to distributors selling into European markets with carbon-reduction targets or renewable-heating incentive schemes.
